Rev. George Gillen
Pastor
Rev. George Gillen is the pastor at St Genevieve Catholic Schools and has been for quite some time. We are happy to have his servces, knowledge and faith.

Ms. Brooks
PreK 3 Teacher

Ms. Brooks graduated from Oakwood University, where she recieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She is very passionate about education and loves working with children of all ages. Ms. Brooks currently is the teacher for the Pre-K 3 class. She believes in creating a safe, engaging and fun environment that is conducive for learning. Ms. Brooks' philosophy is that God intended for his children to excel higher than human thoughts can reach, and that all children are capable of reaching these goals with the proper guidance and tools for learning. ​

I have been teaching at Saint Genevieve School for over twenty-five years, all in first grade except for one year, when I taught  fourth grade. I have a degree in Special Education. I've been a resident of Elizabeth for almost thirty years. I am a parishioner of St. Genevieve Church. I choose to teach in a Catholic school so I can share my love of God with my students and infuse the Gospel in all subject areas.

Ms . Sue Ritter
Grade 2 Teacher
​​Ms. Ritter was born and raised in NJ. She comes from a long line of teachers including her youngest brother and sister (who are twins), her mother who was a nursing educator and her late father was a biology teacher. She has 3 beautiful nieces that range from 6 -22! She has been with the Archdiocese for over 17 years. She is an avid country music fan and loves the NY Giants!

 Mr. Eric Stanley
Grade 3 Teacher
I have been a teacher for 11 years. I have taught Pre-K for 1 year and 2nd grade 10 years. This will be my 12th year teaching and I have been given the great opportunity to teach 3rd grade here at St. Genevieve School. I spent my first year teaching in Livingston NJ, 8 years in Newark Public schools and 3 years at Good Shepherd Academy in Irvington. I am very involved with my church in Elizabeth NJ where I am a Director of the Bridge Youth Ministry at School 19 where I have served for 4 years. I love teaching and being a positive role model for each student that I encounter​​​

My name is Mrs. Szumski and I currently teach third grade. I have been teaching for over twelve years. I  graduated from Kean University with a Bachelor of Education degree. I believe that teaching at a Catholic school is my vocation. My children attend St. Genevieve School. Outside of teaching, I enjoy cooking, reading, soccer and traveling with my family.

Throughout middle school and high school, Mathematics was the class I cherished the most. I am passionate about mathematics and want to show students today mathematics is everywhere, especially in social studies.

​My name is Mrs. Brooks. I graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. I’ved worked in the field of Environmental Engineering for more than 12 years before entering the teaching profession. In 2015, I began a Master in Education Administration at Saint Peter’s University and in spring 2017, completed the educational requirements for teacher certification in elementary education.  This is my second year at Saint Genevieve School where I currently teach Middle School Science.

Ms. Daniela Cuello

Hola! My name is Daniela Cuello and I am the new Spanish teacher here at Saint Genevieve Catholic School. I was born in Venezuela and lived three years in the Dominican Republic. I finished 8th grade, high school and college in the United States. I graduated from Kean University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Spanish. Last July, I graduated from The University of Salamanca, Spain with a Master of Spanish Language and Culture. This will be my second year teaching Spanish at a Catholic School and I love it.

Ms. Shaniece Bannister

My name is Shaniece Bannister and I am both humbled and excited to be Saint Genevieve's  new gym and technology teacher. I am a graduate of Rowan University. This is my first year 
teaching full time, after substituting in Irvington the last four years and working part time as a daycare assistant teacher. Children hold a special place in my heart and I love working with them. I look forward to seeing all of our students grow academically, spiritually, socially and mentally this school year and I hope I can inspire each of them.

​My Name is Mrs. Spiegel and I have a BA degree in Music Education from TCNJ. I taught in Westfield public schools for 2 years before coming to St. Genevieve in 1979. While teaching at St Gens, I also taught music at Holy Spirit, Union, Holy Trinity in Westfield and St. Catherine’s in Elizabeth. In addition to music, I  also teach art and drama at St Gens. ​I direct the Christmas and Spring shows and the Drama Club play. When I am not doing something at the school,
